Women’s IP World Annual has published the official results of the Top 100 Influential Women Leaders in IP Law – 2026 ranking, an international initiative that highlights women with real impact in the field of intellectual property, globally. The 2026 edition placed an increased emphasis on merit, concrete professional achievements and effective contribution to the development of the IP ecosystem, the evaluation being carried out exclusively on the basis of the information provided in the nomination forms and subjected to a rigorous analysis process.
In this context, Adina Timonea, CEO and lawyer at the TAS Intellectual Property Agency, Romania, was included in the “Leadership in IP Commercialisation & Licensing” category, a category dedicated to professionals who stand out for their strategic vision and ability to transform intellectual property rights into relevant commercial assets.
This recognition reflects a clear professional direction: to transform intellectual property rights into strategic assets, capable of generating economic value, supporting development in competitive markets and strengthening the commercial position of rights holders. In the motivation published in the ranking, the experience of over two decades and the constant focus on the strategic marketing of IP portfolios, through solutions adapted to each business model, are highlighted.
In practice, marketing and licensing intellectual property involves more than ‘owning’ a trademark, design or copyright. I suppose you know how to structure it, how to protect it coherently, how to use it in negotiations and how to put it into legal and economic circulation, under safe conditions: through contracts, licenses, partnerships, extensions to new territories and mechanisms that transform legal exclusivity into a competitive advantage.
This international recognition naturally belongs to a work built on legal rigor, vision and results – and also represents a strong signal that Romanian expertise can have visibility and influence at a global level, when it is oriented towards real impact and applied solutions.
For the local business environment, the message is simple: the higher the level of education and enforcement of intellectual property in Romania, the greater the chances that Romanian brands and creations will be protected, monetized and internationally competitive.
