Adina Țimonea joins global leaders in intellectual property in Yokohama.

Adina Țimonea, founder of TAS Intellectual Property, will participate from September 13–16, 2025 at the AIPPI World Congress in Yokohama, Japan – one of the most important international forums dedicated to intellectual property.

AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) annually brings together professionals from over 100 countries to debate legislative and jurisprudential developments and to contribute to the global harmonization of intellectual property rights.

This year’s Congress promises to be special with the participation of a record number of judges and in-house practitioners: two judges from the Unified Patent Court (UPC), a judge from the Supreme Court of Germany, along with other prestigious magistrates. In addition, representatives of leading companies from the electronics, food and hospitality, luxury goods and gaming sectors will share their experience directly with AIPPI members.

The number of delegates from intellectual property offices and intergovernmental organizations will also be the largest in the history of the congress.

The topics to be debated are among the most current and complex: the impact of artificial intelligence on copyright and the pharmaceutical industry, litigation on biosimilars and personalized medicine, as well as the latest patent rulings – from FRAND and trade secrets, to decisions of the Unified Patent Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union (BSH v. Electrolux case).

In the area of brands, discussions will focus on the impact of influencer campaigns on brands, the proliferation of the “dupes” phenomenon affecting the luxury goods market, the way in which a brand can acquire distinctive character through use and the new perspectives offered by non-traditional brands in the fashion industry.

Through her participation, Adina Țimonea reaffirms the active involvement of the TAS Agency in international dialogue and the desire to bring the latest trends and best practices in the field of intellectual property to Romania.
