The Locarno Classification is an international system that organizes the classes in which designs are registered, grouping them into 32 classes. It facilitates correct identification of the product category in which the design will be protected. We offer consultancy to help you identify the correct class for your product.

The process may take between 6 and 12 months, depending on the number of applications in progress and any objections raised during examination. If the application meets all legal requirements, the registration certificate is issued faster.

Protection is initially granted for 5 years from the filing date. It can be renewed for additional 5-year periods, up to a maximum of 25 years, provided renewal fees are paid on time. TAS Agency also handles the renewal process.

Yes, you can include multiple designs in one application, as long as they belong to the same Locarno class. This is a cost-effective and efficient option for protecting several designs.

If OSIM refuses your application, you will receive an official communication with the reasons for refusal. You may submit observations, amend the application to meet legal requirements, or appeal the decision within the legal deadline. We identify the best steps to increase your chances of approval.

Registration grants the owner exclusive rights to use, produce, and market the design, prohibiting others from copying or using it without permission. These rights allow legal action against counterfeiting.
